BMW K1200LT overlooking the Pacific from Kanan Rd test ride with trunk removed, handles better!

Back to the street, on my new, pre-owned, BMW K1200LT-C!
This bike is really sweet, a real pleasure to drive! From short rides to the grocery store or long days on the interstate, this bike is ready. When I bought it, I rode 2 days home averaging 300+ each day. No monkey butt or hot spots, could have gone the entire ride in one day! - AWESOME!

I almost forgot to share My Fathers Day Gift... a brand new 2006 FJR1300AE with Automatic Clutch and Electronic Shift! (At least its in the AE only color even if they left the clutch lever on by mistake) And at only 8 bucks, a deal at twice the price!

Baja Designs Tecate HID Headlight w/35watt MR16 - Very Intense! this really lights up the road, although EXTREMELY Un-Usable for Street-Legal Operations (WAY TOO bright! this will blind oncoming drivers for the remainder of their useful lives, instantly) The upper lamp, a 35 watt mr16 bulb, worked allot better that I hoped it would by lighting up the area between the front wheel and the bottom of the HID beam, this really helps to provide a well lit path to ride on.

Full compression braking, right down to idle. ZERO difference from my conventional clutch.
No stalling, it really helps when you don't have to restart after a spill...
especially if you have a kickstart only dinosaur like mine.
And, since I've found that most (read MOST) electric start owners are pretty smug about themselves and rarely miss the opportunity to point and laugh at someone still using a kickstarter.
So
it really helps cut down on the Smug!
Adding a Battery - I needed a reserve power source for my new HID Tecate Headlight because the stock WR stator cant get excited enough to power it at idle. That means that I FINALLY found a use for the stock airbox lid - i used it as my battery mounting plate... I will post pics showing the installed modified lid with the home built, hardware store, purchased, standoffs that I made to keep the battery away from the air filter element and to help keep some air flowing into the airbox! - I used the Yuasa YTZ7-S 12 volt sealed battery based on battery dimensions and what fit in a 2003 WR450FR - I found a good place to buy motorcycle batteries online with competitive prices fast free ground shipping and timely e-mail based customer service, here www.motorcyclebatteriesusa.com

I still want to perform, professor Redbeards' "AP" or "O-ring" modification. on my keihen carb.
I've read, on many forums, that it helps improve this bikes' throttle response dramatically.
...see the o-ring mod.pdf here - thanks to Professor Redbeard!

the tiny battery provided with the kit..

Here's the "WR" with the new seat, signals, horn, and street legal garb attached.
The Seat looks more like the stock unit on the 2004 WR450 flat across from front to back Somewhat taller (2") than before - but hell - now I can ride 50 miles without my butt threatening divorce!
